"LIB’s Green Mission is to create an event where participants can have amazing and fulfilling experiences whilst remaining fully conscious of the natural environment and their effect upon it. This mission requires organizational assessment of the various aspects of LIB’s natural impact. Concerning actual festival infrastructure, LIB will make liberal use of renewable energy sources like solar and wind for power, radically reduce waste through the use of recyclable and reusable products, and offer healthy, locally produced, organic food and drink options. Furthermore, LIB will act as an educational forum in regards to the ecologically friendly and sustainable choices we can all make in our lives. Through these workshops and seminars we hope to inspire our community, the public, and similar events to adopt practices that will make a positive difference for the planet. Ultimately it is our belief that this Green Mission will enhance the circumstances in which we celebrate life, have fun, and share our greatest experiences together.

Upon celebrating its 7th year, Lightning in a Bottle will be an inspiring and comprehensive festival without producing the large amount of waste associated with similar events of its scale. Held for the second time amidst the 50-acre ‘Live Oak’ campground, LIB’s sustainable approach will ensure the wellness of these beautiful surroundings for many years to come."
